Back in the early to mid 2000’s, Corvettes C6R DOMINATED the GT1 scene. It picked up a class championship every single year it raced in the American Le Mans Series. It was so good infact, that it made the other manufacturers in the class (Saleen, Dodge, Maserati, Aston Martin) quit. By 2009, only 2 Corvette C6Rs remained in the class, which only competed for a couple of races before the class was killed off. It won the ALMS GT1 class every year between 2005 and 2008, and even won le mans in 2005
