Mounting should be easy. Mounting should be a place where the horse is able to relax, where they can feel confident, where they are content. So how do achieve this? By showing our horses that the mounting block a rest spot -- and the area away from a mounting block is a working spot. We can do this by asking a horse to perform simple maneuvers in the space away from the mounting block, and then giving them the ability to rest next to the block.
