If there is an A in the present tense, use augh: teach ➡️ taught catch ➡️ caught If the present tense doesn’t have an A, use ough: think ➡️ thought buy ➡️ bought bring ➡️ brought fight ➡️ fought This trick can’t be applied to every word with these spellings, but it’s pretty cool for the words it doe
