FROM THE ARCHIVES - NEW YORK TAKE-OFF ON 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF LINDBERGH'S FLIGHT. Kermit pilots Spirit replica on the 75th Anniversary of Lindbergh's Flight. In May of 2002, I participated in a series of re-enactments for the 75th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh's historic flight across the Atlantic. Part of which was his take-off from New York. Lindbergh had originally taken-off from Roosevelt Field on Long Island, but the site is now a giant shopping mall, so I was forced to re-enact the New Y
